The Land Steward will perform and participate in preserve operations, maintenance, and management. The Land Steward maintains preserve areas frequented by the visiting public and removes exotic species. May work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations for long periods of time in isolated settings, on difficult and hazardous terrain and under physically demanding circumstances. The NITC Fellow 's responsibilities include: assisting in urban greenspace identification, supporting city-based community engagement, applying urban ecology principles, and conducting urban planning policy analysis. Current projects that an Environmental Fellow may participate in include Boston urban forestry (community engagement, urban forestry, GIS mapping, tree planting and care education), statewide analysis of urban land conservation opportunities, and more. Standard tasks could consist of assisting with community partner power-mapping, identifying and mapping potential urban greenspaces, developing outreach strategies to promote NITC, and conducting ongoing research on urban land conservation trends in Massachusetts and nationwide.

The Ecological Restoration Fellow will join our Ecological Restoration Program within the Conservation Science Department, based out of Mass Audubon Headquarters in Lincoln, MA. Ecological Restoration is the process of assisting the recovery of an ecosystem that has been damaged, degraded, or destroyed. The Climate Education Fellow will be part of the Education and Engagement Team, a hybrid role based out of one of Mass Audubon sanctuaries and will have the opportunity to play a key role in educational program planning, implementation, and evaluation. Working with educators throughout the state, they will support the Climate Democracy Project (CDP), an interdisciplinary climate education and action program for secondary teachers and students.
