I was the founding president of Greensprings Natural Cemetery Preserve in Finger Lake region of upstate New York, which opened in 2006. Like other conservation and natural burial grounds certified by the Green Burial Council, Greensprings has people at its heart and nature in its soul — a choice in death that reflects your life. Now Mary does outreach and research for the Green Burial Council International. I also write about science and the environment, both at Cornell University and as a freelancer. I love to botanize, track wildlife, sing, dance, laugh ... life is good. Mostly.
