Corey Buffo

Corey is a native of Portland, Oregon and has a BS in Conservation and Resource Studies from UC Berkeley and a JD from Hastings College of the Law. Mr. Buffo spent five years fighting forest fires and traveling in Asia before coming to DC in 1998 to cover zoning and other land use issues as an Assistant Attorney General. Mr. Buffo later helped establish the new DC Department of the Environment, becoming its first General Counsel, Interim Director, and Policy Director. He is currently at the US Department of Energy assisting the Department's sites with sustainability goals and implementation strategies.
