The Center for Diversity & the Environment (CDE) racially and ethnically diversifies the U.S. environmental movement by developing leaders, diversifying institutions, and building community. In partnership with ELP Fellows, Marcelo Bonta, Emily Enderle, and Ava-Gay Blagrove, they request funding for the development of Environmental Professionals of Color chapters in New York and Washington, DC. The Environmental Professionals of Color (EPOC) is currently a network of over 500 leaders, many of who are the only person or one of the few people of color working at their environmental institutions. EPOC is currently a volunteer driven network with paid CDE staff coordinating and overseeing the growth, development, and functions.
