Tai Dinnan grew up in a small town in Vermont, allowing her to develop a deep appreciation of nature and vegetable gardening. While in college, Tai started her work in school-yard gardens with Groundwork Somerville. She left school for a semester to spend three months training farmers groups in small scale biointensive sustainable agriculture in Tanzania through Global Service Corps. She graduated from Tufts University in 2009 with a B.A. in Child Development and Community Health. As Gardens Coordinator for Groundwork Somerville, Tai maintains and coordinates programming in eight school yard gardens. She also serves as Groundwork Somerville's Gardens Consultant. In 2009, Tai joined the board of the Community Growing Center, which seeks to build local community by sustaining the park and garden space and coordinating ecological and multicultural educational programs and events.
