Biography: 

Steve is the Carbon Quantification Project Coordinator at MaineHousing.  In that role, he is developing the first project to verify and sell carbon offsets from residential energy efficiency retrofits under the Verified Carbon Standard.    Carbon offset revenue will be used by MaineHousing to weatherize additional low income homes.

Prior to his work at MaineHousing, Steve compiled the Maine Energy Handbook, a comprehensive guide to municipal energy efficiency and renewable energy in Maine.  He continues to volunteer for Sustain Mid-Maine, a community-government sustainability partnership which he helped create.  He has consulted internationally on greenhouse gas, watershed quality, and natural resource management issues.

Steve holds a B.A. in Environmental Policy from Colby College, a Green Steps Environmental Change Management Certification, and a  Building Performance Institute Building Energy Professional Certification.  He is a former Colby College Philanthropist of the Year, Morris K. Udall Scholar, and Clean Air-Cool Planet Climate Fellow.
