Environmental Leadership Program

Brandi Colander is an Attorney with the Air and Energy Group at the Natural Resources Defense Council in New York City. A "daddy's girl" at heart, her father's weekend hikes at the South Mountain Reservation in New Jersey left an imprint on her career aspirations long before she knew it. Growing up in New Jersey and briefly working in community development with the Local Initiatives Support Corporation further solidified her understanding of how inextricably linked environmental problems were to our everyday existence. This notion was further reinforced by studying urban and environmental planning at the University of Virginia, law at Vermont Law and environmental management at Yale. Colander joined NRDC in September of 2008 where she focuses on energy policy.
