Biography: 

Ben Gerhardstein is a Public Health Analyst with the National Center for Environmental Health/Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (NCEH/ATSDR) at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia. He works on range of environmental public health issues at NCEH/ATSDR, including the National Conversation on Public Health and Chemical Exposures, a major public involvement initiative that developed recommendations for better protecting the U.S. public from harmful chemical exposures. As a CDC Presidential Management Fellow, Ben completed a rotation focused on pedestrian-safety issues with the San Francisco Department of Public Health’s Program on Health, Equity, and Sustainability. Ben holds an adjunct faculty position at Emory University's Rollins School of Public Health, where he has taught a course on public health and the built environment. He worked previously at the Environmental Law Institute in Washington, DC Ben received his B.A. from Brown University and his M.P.H. from Emory University. An adventurous soul, Ben is an avid rock climber, wilderness trekker, and urban cyclist.
