Environmental Leadership Program

Annabella Roig returns the Espearanza, this this time erving as Vice President of National Programs for Esperanza, the largest faith based community development corporation in the US, based in Philadelphia, PA.   She oversees and serves as program auditor in Esperanza's role as a federal intermeidary for services provision and capacity building for smaller non profit organzations around the country providing services in Housing Counseling, as funded by HUD, mentoring programs as funded by Department of Justice, and other social services programs as funded by various foundations, corporate and state funding sources.  

Previously, Annabella served the City of Philadelphia as Assistant Managing Director for Social Services.  As a Special Assistant to the Deputy Managing Director of Social Services, Annabella was part of a time that supervisd and coordinated thirteen operating departments including, the Division of Social Services, the Department of Public Health, the Department of Human Services, the Philadelphia Prison System, the Department of Recreation and the Office of Emergency Shelter and Services.

Prior to this position, she served as a program developer for the Hispanic Capacity Project (HCP), Nueva Esperanza Inc., a national project funded by the Department of Health and Human Services Compassion Capital Fund. The HCP provides technical assistance and training for capacity building across the country. Prior to HCP she worked for Philadelphia's Housing Authority, Department of Public Health, and City Planning Commission. She worked on Healthy Cities campaigns for the Salt Lake Valley Health Department Policy and Planning Unit and spearheaded the first ever year-long cultural competence training program for county personnel and the state health department.

Annabella's academic background includes two Master's degrees, from Columbia University in NY - One in Public Health and Administration and a second in Urban Planning with concentrations in Environmental Regulation and Planning within each degree.  She also recently studied project management fundatmentals and passed the certifying examination for a Certified Associate Poject Manager (CAPM) by the Project Management Institute.
