Alejandra Tres is an organizer for the Sound Alliance. The Sound Alliance is an organization of diverse religious institutions, education organizations, unions and other civic non-profits. It is driven by the belief that these Mediating Institutions must be strong because they are the cornerstones of a vibrant democratic society and hold the key to mending and reweaving the social fabric essential for strong families, healthy communities and a just world. Previously Alejandra was Executive Director of the Association of Environmental Health Academic Programs and the National Environmental Health Science and Protection Accreditation Council. Alejandra also served as a research analyst at the Department of Environmental Health at the University of Washington and consulted for several organizations including the Washington State Board of Health, the March of Dimes, Ford Foundation, and Mercy Corps International on issues such as environmental justice, housing, public participation, and civil society. She lives on Vashon with her husband Jeff, son Carlos, dog piba, a flock of chickens and sundry of other animals.
