SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
The Environmental Leadership Program seeks sponsors for Emerging Leaders, Emerging Solutions: Taking Action on Climate Change and Global Warming a national conference to be held in Newark, New Jersey from July 10-12, 2007. ELP expects 250-300 people to attend the conference from around the country, including approximately fifty ELP senior fellows. The target audience for the conference will reflect ELP's cross-sector approach, engaging individuals from non-profits, government, business and academia in a discussion about what solutions are currently working to meet the challenge of climate change. The conference particularly seeks to encourage a diverse national cohort of established and emerging leaders to find ways to integrate climate policy and science into their individual areas of endeavor.
SPONSORSHIP BENEFITS
Sponsorship of Emerging Leaders, Emerging Solution provides an excellent opportunity to show your organization's commitment to finding new solutions to meet the challenge of climate change. The purpose of this conference is to highlight emerging strategies and ideas, and to provide a platform for emerging leaders to articulate their understanding of the scope of the problem and their vision for responding. When you sponsor this conference, you will:
- Reach an audience of 250-300 leaders who are working from their personal spheres of influence to take action on global warming;
- Increase awareness of your organization's efforts to meet the challenge of climate change;
- Gain access to diverse climate change actors from government, business, political, academia, and community-based organizations;
- Take part in a national dialogue on the recent successes in the fight against global warming; and,
- Demonstrate your organization's commitment to a sustainable future.
THE CONFERENCE
Emerging Leaders, Emerging Solutions aims to further our national dialogue on recent successes in the fight against global warming. Speakers and panelists will share their models of success, and participants will discuss ways to create change and address greenhouse gas pollution from their spheres of influence. Sample workshops include:
- Are we Privatizing our Atmosphere?, a look at different options for allocating carbon credits, and issues related to establishing trading systems;
- Business Practices and Green Marketing, a discussion of how companies are successfully integrating their sustainable practices and marketing;
- Getting Real on Global Warming and the American Way of Life, a look at how we can incorporate sustainability into the American dream; and,
- Making Global Warming a Community Issue, a conversation on how grassroots leaders can frame global warming at the community level.
The conference will be co-hosted by the New Jersey Institute of Technology, and funded by corporate, nonprofit,
and foundation sponsors. As a measure of ELP's continued dedication to our fellows' leadership development, more
than twenty ELP Senior Fellows have formed a planning committee to organize the event with the support of an advisory
committee of established environmental leaders.
