Moser, PhD - Institute for the Study of Society and Environment, National Center for Atmospheric Research An in-depth look at current and future climate change in our own backyard. The Northeast Climate Impacts Assessment (NECIA) is a collaboration between The Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) and a team of independent experts to develop and communicate a new assessment of climate change and associated impacts on key climate-sensitive sectors in the northeastern United States. The goal of the assessment is to combine state-of-the-art analyses with effective outreach to provide opinion leaders, policymakers, and the public with the best available science upon which to base informed choices about climate change mitigation and adaptation.
Climate Justice 101 Speaker Nia Robinson - Director of Environmental Justice & Climate Change Initiative at Redefining Progress This workshop explains how climate change, as a global problem that affects everyone on earth, leads to environmental injustice both across and within nations. Here we explore what climate injustice looks like, brainstorm ideas for overcoming it, and use the Ten Principles for Just Climate Change Policies as the foundation that helps guide participants on how to achieve climate justice.
