Mary BillsMary Bills

Mary Bills has devoted years of service to the betterment of public education in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. For nearly thirty years, she served on various local education boards and commissions, including being an elected member of the Milwaukee Board of School Directors from 1985 to 1997, and president from 1993-1996. She has also been politically active, having served as education chair for the League of Women Voters of Greater Milwaukee and supported political campaigns. Since her move to California, Mary has increased her environmental activism. She was appointed to the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee of the San Diego Zoological Society, whose function is to research proposals and make field studies to insure humane treatment of animals and the usefulness of the research projects. Her recent travel has focused on animals in the wild, including pandas in China, mountain gorillas in Uganda, and animals and birds in Australia and New Zealand, the Amazon in Peru, and Tanzania.


Ann BorenAnn Boren

Ann Boren is an environmental advocate with a wide range of experience in starting and managing educational programs for environmental, cultural and governmental organizations. She is the founder and past executive director of The Green Team Project, an action-based environmental education program to help individuals and businesses adopt sustainable lifestyles and business practices by reducing their waste and use of water, energy, fuel and chemicals, and purchasing environmentally friendly products. She also founded Scenic California, an affiliate of Scenic America, and served as chairman of the board. During the Clinton Administration, she served on the Public Linkage and Education Task Force of the President's Council on Sustainable Development. Under President George H.W. Bush, Ann was a special assistant to EPA Administrator William Reilly and the director of EPA's Earth Day program in 1990. She was also special assistant to the Deputy Secretary of the Interior for Environmental Education. Before entering government service, Ann worked as assistant director of development at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, and was president of the Junior League of Los Angeles. Ann earned a B.A. from Stanford University and an M.A. in Urban Studies from Occidental College.


Kevin BryanKevin Bryan
Mediator, Meridian Institute

Kevin Bryan is a Mediator at the Meridian Institute, where he works with other professionals to design, convene, and facilitate multi-party problem solving interactions to resolve public policy problems of mutual interest. Meridian's mediators and facilitators help parties identify critical issues, build relationships and trust, construct innovative solutions, and implement the results. Previously, Kevin was senior coordinator for the National Wind Coordinating Committee at RESOLVE, where he identified opportunities to work with individuals and stakeholder groups on wind energy issues. Prior to RESOLVE, Kevin worked with Environmental Defense, where he helped establish guidelines for stakeholder involvement in environmental decision making, and was project manager for energy markets research with the City of San Jose (CA).


Lynette CardochLynette Cardoch
Supervising Scientist, MWH Americas, Inc.

Lynette Cardoch is a supervising scientist with MWH Americas, Inc. with emphasis on water quality, coastal sustainability, environmental restoration and coastal policy. Previously, Lynette was a research scientist with the Environmental Protection Agency in North Carolina. Her research focused on nitrogen in the Neuse River Basin. More broadly, her interests lie in the distribution and allocation of water resources, both in terms of quality and quantity, for natural and human environments. Lynette received her PhD. from Louisiana State University (Oceanography and Coastal Sciences). She was a Fulbright Scholar in Barcelona, Spain focusing on ecological economics. Lynette received her M.A. from the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, University of Miami (Marine Affairs and Policy) and her B.A. from Harvard-Radcliffe Colleges (Biological Anthropology).


Iantha Gantt-WrightIantha Gantt-Wright
President, Kenian Group

Iantha Gantt-Wright serves as President of The Kenian Group, a consulting, training and facilitation group that provides organizations with the skills and tools necessary to diversify their programs, memberships, constituents, workforces, boards and advocates. Iantha founded and chairs the Environmental Diversity Working Group (EDWG), which brings representatives from the environmental community together for sustained dialogue and actions towards broader diversity and inclusion within environmental organizations. As a former Director of Diversity for The National Parks Conservation Association, Ms. Gantt-Wright launched the National Parks Community Partners Program in six cities around the country to further diversity efforts for the National Parks Conservation Association. In addition, she is the founder and organizer of the Mosaic in Motion Conference on Breaking Barriers of Race and Diversity in the National Park System.


Dan GarofaloDan Garofalo
Sr. Facilities Planner, University of Pennsylvania

Dan Garofalo is the senior facilities planner at the University of Pennsylvania, where he assists with the implementation of the University's 25-Year Development Plan. He also is directing the revision of Penn's Design Guidelines to incorporate sustainability and environmental awareness. Daniel also is chair of the board of the Delaware Valley Green Building Council and serves on the board of the Friends of the Free Library. He co-founded and served as chair of the Community Design Collaborative. Philadelphia's pro bono design center. Daniel is an ELP Senior Fellow from the 2004 Delaware Valley Fellowship Class.


Seth GoldmanSeth Goldman
TeaEO, Honest Tea

Seth Goldman is President and TeaEO of Honest Tea, one of the fastest growing bottled beverage companies in the nation. Before launching Honest Tea, Seth was Vice President of Calvert Social Investment Fund, managing the marketing and sales efforts for the nation's largest family of socially responsible mutual funds. His previous work includes managing a corporate child labor initiative for the Calvert Foundation, directing an AmeriCorps demonstration project in Baltimore and serving as Senator Lloyd Bentsen's Deputy Press Secretary for two and a half years. Seth is an advisory board member of First Peoples Worldwide, a non-profit that promotes the rights and interests of indigenous peoples. He serves on the board of Net Impact and is president of the Somerset Elementary School Educational Foundation, the public school his three boys attend near Honest Tea's offices in Bethesda, Maryland. Seth also serves on the board of The Clean Energy Partnership, an organization dedicated to raising awareness about sustainable energy solutions and partnering with businesses and individuals to create change. CEP strives to create a growing demand for clean energy, support companies that embrace sustainable busines practices, encourage legislative changes that advance the use of clean energy, and provide a forum for business leaders and activists to share their views and exchange ideas. He is a graduate of Harvard College (1987) and the Yale School of Management (1995).


Jennifer Hill-KelleyJennifer Hill-Kelley
Environmental Quality Director, Oneida Environmental Health & Safety Area

Jennifer Hill-Kelley is environmental quality director of the Oneida Nation in Wisconsin where she protects tribal natural resources through reviewing environmental impacts of tribal projects and operations, assuring compliance with tribal and federal laws and community education. She administers the water resources, Brownfield, and cultural plant protection programs. She is the Tribal staff representative on the EPA Region 5 Tribal Operations Committee, the EPA National Tribal Operations Committee, the Wisconsin Tribal Conservation Advisory Council and the Fox River -Green Bay Natural Resource Trustee Council. She currently serves as a public member of the Wisconsin Land Council and the Oneida Seven Generations Corporation Board. She is a former Executive Council member of the National Environmental Justice Advisory Council and former vice chair of the Indigenous Peoples subcommittee.


David KnightDavid Knight
President and CEO, Teragren

David Knight is president and chief executive officer of Teragren, the nation's leading manufacturer of environmentally responsibl bamboo flooring, panels and veneer. At Teragren, David plans and directs all aspects of the company's policies and business initiatives. Under his leadership, the company has set the standard for bamboo flooring and panel products through stringent, environmentally friendly manufacturing specifications and continuous product innovations.


Jan MontgomeryJan Montgomery

Jan Montgomery has had an interesting and varied professional career. Jan has worked in marketing and public relations for a number of for-profit and non-profit organizations, including the Milwaukee Public Museum, Price Waterhouse, and most recently Riveredge Nature Center. In the early Eighties, she was an account executive for Zigman Joseph Skeen, where she was involved with efforts to more fairly distribute sewer construction costs to those responsible for the region's water pollution. Prior to that, she was the administrative director of Historic Walker's Point, which successfully worked to place this Milwaukee neighborhood on the National Register of Historic Places. Jan has served on many community-based and environmental boards, including The Ozaukee Washington Land Trust and the Public Policy Forum, which seeks to assure good government practices in southeast Wisconsin. She was appointed by the Governor of Wisconsin to the Wisconsin Historic Preservation Review Board in the 1980s and was elected to be a City of Mequon alderman from 1980-1983. Jan is currently a member of Rachel's Network and a trustee, co-vice chair and executive committee member of the University of Wisconsin Memorial Union Building Association where she has been active for many years.


Na'Taki OsborneNa'Taki Osborne
National Leadership Development & Strategic Planning Coordinator, National Wildlife Federation

Na'Taki Osborne is the National Leadership Development & Strategic Planning Coordinator for the National Wildlife Federation. She is responsible for developing urban environmental initiatives in key priority communities across the country and building partnerships between grassroots community organizations, local and statewide environmental agencies, and academic institutions to implement community-based environmental protection initiatives. She is also currently serving as a Community Health Team Teacher/Guest Environmental Health Professional at the Morehouse School of Medicine (Atlanta, GA). Na'Taki is co-founder of the Center for Environmental Public Awareness, a nonprofit environmental education and leadership development training organization. Na'Taki serves on a number of non-profit boards, including the Metropolitan Atlanta Transportation Equity Coalition, the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy and the West Atlanta Watershed Alliance. She is currently serving her last term as President of the Greater Atlanta Millennium Section of the National Council of Negro Women.


MamieParkerMamie Parker
President, MaParker and Associates

Mamie Parker is the principal of MaParker and Associates. Mamie retired from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in 2007 after a successful 28-year career of steadily increasing agency responsibility. Most recently, Mamie served as the Assistant Director - Fisheries and Habitat Conservation. In that role, she developed many new partnerships, created new Friends groups, and pushed habitat restoration, coastal and marine mammal protection, fish passage, wetland mapping, planning on military lands, strategic planning, and outreach. Prior to this position, Mamie was the Regional Director for the 13-state Northeast Region, in Hadley, Massachusetts, where she proved to be a strong advocate for employee development and mentoring. Mamie recently was inducted into the Arkansas Outdoor Hall of Fame by Governor Mike Huckabee. She also received the Service’s distinguished Ira Gabrielson Award given to one outstanding leader in the Service each year, and the Department of Interior Silver Award presented by the Secretary. top
